What If?

What If?

Building a business—whether online or in a physical building—takes work and effort. It takes dedication, conviction, and a desire so strong that nothing can stop you.

I'm not sure where I am in this. Fear can take you places you haven't been, and back to places you have been. It's not a "scared" fear, but a hesitant fear of "what if."

The Counter-Attack

  • What if I fail? Failure is stopping.
  • What if I quit? You'll never know.
  • What if I just don't feel like it? Then don't.
  • What if people laugh at me? News flash: they already do.
  • What if I can't? What if you can?
  • What if it doesn't work? Find a way.

There are a lot of "what ifs" out there. For every single one, there is a positive response. It's easy to quit, to find a reason not to do it, and to make excuses.

The Power of One Hour

What if every day you worked at it for just one hour a day? What could you accomplish?

The dishes are done. The house is clean. The oil in the car has been changed. The lawn is mowed. Laundry is done. Wow—and that is just a few of the things that can get done in an hour, each of course!

What would happen if you took that hour, after all the chores are done, and spent it reading a book or watching a video on how to achieve your "what if" dream? Having a business, getting married, having children, finding the perfect job, becoming debt-free, spending time with family, or going on a fully paid vacation with extra cash to spare?

The "what ifs" of hope give you a fighting chance. If you are still thinking about it, you have nothing to lose but time—and you’ve already lost it. So, what if you started that dream and made it a reality? Wouldn’t it be better than not?

One Thought at a Time

Take it one day at a time. Actually, just take one thought at a time: complete that one, and move on to the next. Before you know it, you are there. Just like riding a bike, once you are on it and moving, your momentum takes you where you are supposed to be.

I know it may seem easier to physically not do it, but in the back of your mind, you are always going to wonder, "What if I can?"

Perhaps this will be the year of restoration. Not of things taken, but of things put back into place and obstacles removed for you to find your true purpose in this life. Everyone has a dream; often that dream gets sidetracked by life. We accept what we have and, for the most part, are content. But something deep inside is calling us to move in a new direction.

Calling You Like a Child

Hesitant as we are—because change is uncomfortable and comfort has been our game plan for so long—how do we move into the unknown?

It really is not unknown. The vision, the dream, has been with you all your life. It never changed. It rather faded to the background or became your source of refuge when you needed a future—if only in your mind. It was your escape plan. "One day I am going to..." (fill in the blank).

Now it is calling you like a child, eager to become alive outside of your dream state. Why not? What have you to lose? Nothing. Every day that you wake up, you lose time. How much more time will be gone when you look back and say, "I should have, I could have..." or "I have my desire—my dream has come true."

It doesn’t have to be world-changing. It only has to be life-changing for you! It will affect others for sure, but it always starts with you.

Restore the Dream

Restore the dreams and vision to life that you have been keeping inside and hiding. It is a gift given to you that the locusts tried to eat, but they didn't find it very tasty. So, they just nibbled—as did you, in your silent dreams.

Don’t let the locusts and naysayers tell you "no" any longer. In fact, don’t tell them anything. Just do it, and let them see that YES, you can restore your dead, sleeping dream to a vital new life—YOURS. I did and this is it for me…what is your dream?

Take it from your mind and bring it to your reality. You got this.

Have a blessed day! Love you.
