God vs. The World
There are Christians who believe God directly causes sickness, disease, and accidents so He can get the glory when He uses them for our good. This is simply not true, no matter how you spin it. The only true part of that statement is that God can turn terrible things around for good.
God does not create things to harm His children any more than a loving earthly parent would harm theirs. While there are parents who do hurt their children, that doesn't come from God either—that comes from a mind that has lost the ability to reason right from wrong.
The world creates violence. We see it promoted through media, video games, and constant news cycles. It is everywhere, but we still have a choice. For those who choose violence or fall victim to it, God can—and does—bring good out of the tragedy, no matter how much pain and sadness it caused. God is a good God; it’s we who are flawed.
Sickness and disease stem from human choices and environmental factors, some intentional, others out of sheer lack of knowledge. We put chemicals into our bodies through drugs, alcohol, processed foods, polluted water, and contaminated air. God did not create these toxins to be used against us; we did. When we fail to eat properly, neglect exercise, and live without peace, illness is only a matter of time. Again, God isn't doing this to us—we are doing it to ourselves.
God has never created anything meant to destroy you. His thoughts toward you are for good and not evil, and He has a distinct plan for your life. Sickness comes from the choices, environments, and toxins of this world.
Diseases like cancer are caused by chemical exposures and broken systems, not God. While God will step into a diagnosis and use the journey for His glory, He is not a manipulator who causes you to get sick just so He can play the hero. He abhors that!
His true desire for you is to “be in health and to prosper, even as your soul prospers.” True prosperity isn't just about money—it’s about complete peace and physical wholeness. And that wholeness begins in the mind. What you focus on, you move toward. When you align your mind with life, peace, and health, you invite the power of God to stand alongside you, helping you overcome whatever trial comes your way.
3 John 1:2 -Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
